I finished the tractor blanket. I had a great time knitting it, the pattern was great and I love that you provided a graph of the tractor pattern and also the written directions for each row, it made it really easy to follow.
I look forward to seeing other patterns that you create.

I’ve made the ‘Just Ducky’ pattern twice as gifts. The instructions are easy to follow, and my friends loved getting a unique gift.

Welcome to Little Piggy Patterns, a site for beginning and intermediate knitters who want to create fun baby blankets for family and friends. If you can Knit, Purl, and count, you can make these blankets because the basic design is a reverse stockinette stitch on a stockinette background. This style of blanket is reversible; on one side of the blanket the design is in relief, on the other side the background is in relief.
My initial patterns featured blankets with farm themes. But over time I have expanded my designs to include designs with universal appeal, inlcuding foot prints, hand prints, boats, bunnys, and musical notes. I have also expanded the designs to include washcoths with many of the same themes. As I welcome more babies into my circle of family and friends, I hope to find inspiration for new designs from their lives and interests.
Each pattern includes easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions, a close-up photo of the design detail, and a graph of the design for reference. The designs show up best if worked in a solid color. Only the Sailor’s Delight pattern was worked in a multi-colored (blue/white) yarn.
MY STORY:
I’m a mid-western farm girl transplanted to the West Coast. I learned to knit in my 8th grade home-ec class. My first major project as a beginner was making a lacy knit stole for my Grandmother. After a long hot summer of knitting, it won first prize at the county 4-H fair and a second place at the Indiana State Fair.
I’ve continued to knit off and on for 40+ years. I prefer simpler projects like blankets and scarves because I don’t like sewing pieces together. Semi-retirement has given me the time to explore new ways to be creative with my knitting. I hope you like what you see. Happy Knitting.
